Aurora Project: Mystery Booms Over Britain And U.S. Linked To Secret Spy Plane

Loud, mysterious noises were reported over Britain and upstate New York on Sunday night, and one scientist has linked the sounds to a new type of engine that some assert is used to power a top secret spy plane, Aurora, to hypersonic speeds.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, the mysterious noises were recorded over the length and breadth of Britain, at almost the exact same time that residents of western New York reported similar sounds. People from Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Clarence and as far north as Niagara Falls reported the strange noises, which defied explanation, on social media.
An engineering research associate from Sheffield, Dr Bhupendra Khandelwal, spoke with the Daily Mail, asserting that he recognized the sounds. Dr. Khandelwal claims that the noises are strikingly similar to an experimental jet engine called a pulse detonation engine, a technology that he is working on developing with a team of experts.
“It makes the same kind of pulsing sound as the one on this audio,” he said.
Conspiracy theorists have linked the engine design to the Aurora project, a rumored American spy plane that is thought to fly at hypersonic speeds. Though the existence of Aurora is routinely denied by authorities, as the Mirror observes, some theorists have pointed to sightings of a triangular object in the skies over the North Sea in 1989 as proof of the project’s existence.
Rumors of the spy plane originated in an article that featured in Aviation Week and Space Technology magazine in 1989. Examining the 1985 U.S. budget, the article noted that $445 million was attributed to a “black aircraft production” project called Aurora. Other reports have suggested that the Aurora program originated from Lockheed Martin’s Skunkworks in 1987. Ben Rich, the former head of Lockheed’s Skunkworks division, has stated that Aurora was the codename for the B-2 Spirit program.

The SR-72 spy plane will reportedly be able to accelerate to Mach Six.

In November of 2013, Lockheed Martin announced the development of a new spy plane, the SR-72. According to their reports, the spy plane will be able to accelerate to Mach six, or 4,567mph, flying three times faster than the Concorde.
While Dr Khandelwal was quick to distance himself from conspiracy theorists, he allowed that it is possible the technology already exists, unknown to the public. The engine builds on pulsejet designs that originated in the early 1900s, utilizing the force from a controlled series of explosions to propel a plane to hypersonic speeds. Though test flights have only lasted several seconds, it is still considered by conspiracy theorists to be a possible propulsion source for the Aurora spy plane.
